About The Bridge Addiction Center

The Bridge Addiction Center is a referral and placement resource for inpatient addiction treatment in New York City. We help individuals and families navigate the landscape of private, PPO-covered inpatient programs — verifying insurance benefits, assessing clinical needs, and matching each caller with a licensed treatment program.

We are not a licensed treatment facility, detox center, or healthcare provider. We are a placement resource — the first phone call in a process that ends with a patient admitted to a licensed inpatient program matched to their coverage and clinical situation. That distinction matters. It means the people who answer our phones work for the caller, not for a specific facility.

Our Mission

New York City recorded 2,192 overdose deaths in 2024. Roughly 70% of those deaths happened inside a home. The people who died had families, jobs, healthcare, and — in many cases — private PPO insurance that would have covered inpatient treatment. What they didn't have was a direct line to a placement advisor who could verify benefits in 15 minutes and connect them to a licensed residential program.

The Bridge exists to close that gap. We focus on the specific population that falls between hospital-based short-term stabilization (5–10 days) and the 30- to 90-day residential care that research supports as the standard for durable recovery. Every caller receives a confidential benefits verification, a clinical assessment, and a short list of licensed inpatient programs matched to their situation.

Who Answers the Phone

Calls to (347) 774-4506 are answered by placement advisors — not a call center script. Advisor credentials are available on request. [ADVISOR_NAME], [CREDENTIALS, e.g. LCSW, CADC-II], [X] years in addiction placement.

Placement advisors verify PPO insurance benefits in real time, conduct a confidential clinical intake conversation, and identify licensed inpatient programs that match the caller's specific substance profile, co-occurring conditions, and insurance coverage. The conversation is free. There is no obligation. It typically takes 15 minutes to get a real answer on what your plan covers and what your options are.

Trust Signals & Accreditations

The Bridge maintains relationships with licensed inpatient programs across New York State and neighboring states. Program-level accreditation (JCAHO, CARF, state licensure) varies by facility and is confirmed during the placement conversation. [ACCREDITATION — confirm with client].

Why New York City

New York City is uniquely burdened and uniquely served. Its 2024 overdose total of 2,192 deaths represents a 28% decline from the year before — but still averages roughly six deaths per day. The Bronx alone recorded 78.0 overdose deaths per 100,000 residents in 2023, more than double Manhattan's rate. Fentanyl was present in 73% of all 2024 NYC overdose deaths; xylazine, a veterinary sedative that naloxone cannot fully reverse, appeared in 21%.

At the same time, New York State has some of the strongest addiction treatment coverage rules in the country. Insurers cannot require preauthorization for inpatient SUD treatment at in-network licensed facilities. The first 14 days of treatment are protected from concurrent review. For people with private PPO coverage, access to appropriate inpatient care should be faster than it often is.

The Bridge is built for this market. We focus exclusively on New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County. We know the local drug supply, the local insurers, and the licensed residential programs that serve this population. Our placement advisors can connect a family in Queens with a program in New Jersey, or a Manhattan professional with a program in Connecticut, or a Bronx resident with a program in Pennsylvania — whatever matches their specific coverage and clinical needs.
